Children can present with delays in one or more of the following domains:
- Communication. This includes both expressive langage (talking) and receptive language (comprehension).
- Gross motor skills. That is general physical activity like walking, climbing and running.
- Fine motor skills such as drawing, cutting and threading.
- Social skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Cognitive or learning skills.
If you suspect delays these areas can be investigated and, if necessary, referrals made to appropriate services.
